In the world of Sanskrit, every sound carries rhythm, and every verse breathes through Chhanda. This course offers an immersive, instructor-led introduction to Chhanda Shastra — the Vedic science of poetic meters — where learners will not only experience how words, rhythm, and breath unite to create harmony, but also gain the understanding of the place-value system of Indian Mathematics.

Sessions combine clarity, recitation, and creative engagement। It preserves the purity of tradition while remaining simple and accessible.
The course runs for 40 hours, with 2 sessions per week (1 hour each) conducted on Thursdays and Saturdays over approximately 20 weeks. Subject to the collective performance of learners, it be a couple of weeks less or more than the anticipated time.
Guidance:
The course is led by the
Paramparāgata Upāchārya, of Sanskruti Arya Gurukulam, Hitesh Bhai, who is also a PhD researcher in
Vyakarana.
The focus of these lessons will be on popular 21 chhandas which are laukik chhandas. There will be a small introduction to what is called 'vedic chhanda'.
By the end of the course, you will be able to:

✅ Know what is chhandra shastra and all its components.
✅ Pronounce and chant verses correctly in their metrical rhythm.
